There is a growing need for impact resistant windows and doors. We produce a custom line that is designed for hurricane, forced entry, explosion and small missile projection protection. This is an entry to a private home in Palm Beach. It is not necessary to compromise design and beauty for greater levels of security. Philadelphia Fairmount Water Works
In the background is The Philadelphia Museum of Art. It used to be a reservoir. It is on the highest point in downtown Philadelphia, Fairmount. It is a fair mount with a broad view up the river and to the east, the Philadelphia skyline. In the foreground is The Fairmount Water Works, an engineering marvel and tourist attraction in its day. Mark Twain and Charles Dickens visited it. The neo-classical Fairmount Water Works pumped river water to the reservoir and distributed it to Philadelphia by gravity. The Fairmount Water Works has been there since the beginning of the nineteenth century. The Art Museum is a much more recent resident, built one hundred years later. This historical restoration of The Fairmount Water Works included windows, doors and millwork by Woodwindows.com, successfully completed in the summer of 1999.The buildings on the right will become a restaurant. The old Reading Terminal in Philadelphia has gone through quite a change. Originally headquarters and terminal for The Reading Railroad, it now houses part of The Pennsylvania Convention Center, The Reading Terminal Market, The Marriott Hotel and a Hard Rock Cafe. Woodwindows.com manufactured all the exterior wood windows for the Train Shed, the wood store fronts at street level and the monumental wood windows and doors for the second floor Grand Ballroom Princeton University, Little Hall
Little Hall, Princeton University. 650 double hung true divided leaded lite windows. Woodwindows.com designed an integral interior wood energy panel that sits in the sash behind the leaded glass. The original beauty and character of the building is not compromised. An interior wood screen is part of the design. The replacement windows are true to the original.
